Windows Laptop Setup

Very importantly, please read step 7 before connecting to wifi as if you connect to wifi early, you'll be forced to make a Microsoft account with no easy way back.
If asked about setting up the laptop for Personal or organizational use, pick Personal.

Make sure you've read the above two notes as they are very important.
Plug in and turn on the Laptop
Set Language to English
Set Region to UK or US
Set Keyboard Layout to UK or US
Skip Second Keyboard Layout page
Now you should see one of two things. Either you will see a page asking you to connect to wifi or a page asking you to log in to a Microsoft account. Depending on what you see do the following

Connect to wifi:
Near the bottom of the page should be a bit of text saying "Connect to network later". Click on this option.
Now move on to step 9 (some setups may even skip you forward to step 10)

Login to Microsoft Account:
Press Shift + F10 at the same time (you may need to do Fn + Shift + F10)
The command prompt should open up (A black window), click on it to select it
Type in oobe\BypassNRO as shown below
Press enter
The laptop will restart
You'll need to run through steps 1-6 again. But now at step 7 you should see "connect to wifi" instead of the Microsoft login page.
Follow the above connect to wifi steps
A message will pop up asking you to enter Microsoft Account details. Near the bottom of the page click on Setup user without Microsoft Account.
On the next page select the Setup Offline User option near the bottom. On the next page select Limited experience. You may get looped back to the network setup step again (step 6) but just repeat step 6-8 one more time to get past this.
For the username set name as IT Admin
For the password enter Stage2025. The Tech team will be changing this later.
You will be asked to set up three security questions. Pick any three questions but set the answers for each as DT1 for question 1. DT2 for question 2 and DT3 for question 3. The Tech team will be changing these later.
Next skip the fingerprint setup if asked.
Pick No to the Find My Device page.
Pick skip on the Lenovo ID page if you are shown it.

Download and install Chrome Remote Desktop

Open Microsoft Edge. Download Google Chrome. (You can connect to wifi at this point)
Click on this link to go to Chrome Remote Desktop on google chrome or search "chrome remote desktop" in google
Click on Share my Screen. You may need to login to your google account at this point. Next in the Share This Screen box, you should see a small blue button on the right. Keep clicking it to setup remote access to your laptop.
You will know setup is done once a "Generate Code" button is available

Provide the technology team with remote access

Organise a time with the IT team (Ben or Katharine) to be remotely connected to. Simply pop them an email or message saying you've reached this point of the guide and they'll organise this for you.
Just before the meeting, Ben or Katharine will ask you to share the support remote connect code on Chrome Remote Desktop. Click on Generate Code in the Share this Screen box. A code will be generated. Share it with IT team. The code expires after about 3 minutes which is why this must be done just before the meeting.
